In this six week program high school youth (ages 14-17) from the city of Detroit enjoy:
- a paid job
- valuable training
- leadership development
- mentoring
- outdoor adventure trips
All youth must successfully complete our Job Readiness Workshops in order to be eligible to apply for the summer work program.
Those hired will work three days a week as a part of a work crew serving various urban causes and organizations for community improvement, and they will be required to attend training sessions and trips the remaining two days each week.
Work crews are led and supervised by college interns participating in Detroit Summer Outreach.
The program culminates in the end of July with a Reception to celebrate our summer together!
